Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is your policy on rescheduling/cancellations?

I ask for a $50 non-refundable deposit upon booking in order to reserve your spot and prevent last minute cancellations, but I understand that life can happen! The latest you can reschedule/cancel due to prior commitments is 3 weeks before shoot date. Total cancellations after this period will lose their $50 deposit. Please keep in mind that Grad season is my busiest time, and a session booked then cancelled last minute, is a session another individual was not able to book along with my time.

Rescheduling due to weather/sickness is totally understandable. In the case of weather/sickness rescheduling, please be open to the possibility of shooting on a weekday as my weekends are usually booked in advance with other shoots. We will be in constant contact regarding weather updates.

  • When will you be closing Grad bookings?

There is no set date when I will be closing my bookings, just as soon as I am fully booked! Once I am booked up I will not be opening anymore last minute bookings (fall 2024 prices will go up starting September 1st). Please keep in mind that even if I could carve out time for an extra shoot every day, that adds on many more hours for editing pictures post shoots, which is why I am setting a limit on the number of shoots I take this season. While I wish I could take everyone’s grad pictures, I am still a full time student with projects, club/org commitments, and grad school applications.

  • When is the best time to shoot?

The best time for shooting is either early morning/early afternoon or 1-2 hours before sunset. I typically schedule shoots before 11pm or 2 hours before the sunset time.

  • I want the raw photos, can I get them?

Just like a majority of photographers, I don’t share my unedited photos as they are an inaccurate depiction of my work as a whole. For many professional photographers, including myself, the photo taken by our camera is not the final product- the edit is often just as important. Therefore unedited photos are the same as unfinished works of art.

  • How many outfits can I include?

There is no limit to the number of outfits you can include in your shoot, as long as you are able to fit them all within your booked time (changing time will be counted as part of shoot time). Typically people are able to fit 1-2 outfits in a one hour shoot time and 2-3 outfits in a two hour shoot time. For groups I generally ask that everyone stick to one outfit to make all logistics easier.

  • How many locations can I include in my shoot?

Typically in a one hour shoot time, we are able to fit around 2-3 locations on campus and 3-4 locations in a two hour shoot time. Please keep in mind that this is just an estimate based on my experience and can vary from person to person. The number of outfits you include, any retakes requested, and number of people in your group can all determine how many locations we are able to include.

  • Can I bring my pets/parents/friends/partner to take a few pictures?

Yes! You are more than welcome to bring anyone along to your photoshoot. In fact, bringing a friend along make help ease nerves, making you more natural in front of the camera. I’m more than happy to take a few pictures with your friend/partner/family etc.

  • I am interested in shooting on an off campus location. How would that work?

Typically my shoots occur on the main UT campus areas but we can definitely discuss a different location if interested. In the past, I’ve had grads want pictures at the UT Law Building, downtown Austin, and even a bar! If you are wanting to include an off-campus location ALONG with on campus locations, we can make that happen as long as we are able to fit the travel time to-and-fro within the shoot time. If this is something you are interested in, please indicate so in the comments section of the booking form.

  • What happens if I am running late to my shoot?

Please try your best to arrive on time to your shoot so that we can start right away and make the most of your session. I understand delays happen and will give grace for 5-10 minutes. However, if your delay is going to be more than that I ask you to let me know at least 45 minutes in advance. Please keep in mind that in the case I have a shoot scheduled right after yours, we may need to cut your shoot short in order to respect the other persons time. However, any delays on my part won’t affect your total shoot time.

  • Do I bring my own champagne/confetti?

Yes! If you are wanting to do the champagne pop or a confetti pop in your grad pics then please plan accordingly and make sure to bring it along with you to your shoot ahead of time. For confetti poppers I would suggest buying a confetti canon or colorful loose/chunky confetti for the best results.

  • What is the post-shoot process?

My turnaround time is 2-3 weeks after shoot date. You will receive an email with a link + password to your fully edited gallery after this time.
